The HP Chromebook 11 is back in the Play Store after it was removed due to overheating issues with its charger. An LTE version is now available at Best Buy.
Launched in October, the $279 HP Chromebook 11 impressed us with its fresh Pixel-like design and decent specifications. However, trouble beset it – HP and Google had to recall its USB charger after several overheating incidents. The recall reportedly affected 145,000 units, but HP was quick to solve the problem and make it good to users with a replacement charger and a $25 Play gift card.
Now the HP Chromebook 11 is available again in the Play Store in all colors, except white/blue. The device is listed as in stock and shipping in 1-2 business days.
Besides the Wi-Fi version now available in the Play Store for $279, HP has also launched the LTE-enabled version of the device. You will need to sign up with Verizon to use it, but always on connectivity is a big plus for a device that’s so reliant on the cloud. The HP Chromebook 11 LTE is available in-store at Best Buy for $379. This is LTE only, so you won’t be able to fallback to 3G if you go into an area that lacks Verizon’s LTE coverage.
